In Memoriam: Kiernan “KC” Conway

April 28, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Kiernan “KC” Conway, a nationally respected economist and influential voice in the commercial real estate industry. KC passed away on April 28, 2025.  The Chester County CII Council was honored to host KC as our keynote speaker at our annual meeting on April 16, 2025. His presence, insight, and passion left a meaningful impression on all who attended.

KC’s distinguished career spanned nearly four decades. He served in many influential roles, including Chief Economist for the CCIM Institute (2017–2023), Director of Research at the Alabama Center for Real Estate, and Chief Economist for Colliers U.S. During the Great Recession, he advised the Federal Reserve, and throughout his career, he was a trusted expert witness in valuation and tax appeal matters.

In 2023, KC founded KCnomics, LLC, where he continued his work as the “Red Shoe Economist,” providing independent economic insights and consulting across a wide range of critical topics—macroeconomics, real estate finance, logistics, ports, and environmental risk.

KC Conway’s passing is a profound loss to the commercial real estate and economic communities. His legacy will live on through the countless professionals, students, and organizations he informed and inspired. He will be deeply missed.
